How to help the student with alternative student loan not to feel so attracted
If indeed the student that has an alternative student loan might believe that he or she is “A” group material and that belonging to such group can be the thing that he or she might need to fully succeed in life, this is not the case for the larger number of the human population. The bulk numbers of humans that are successful professionals on any given career have never been part of the “A” group and have succeeded and excelled at their own professions entirely on their own effort; sadly, this is a lesser-known fact.
This is a difficult task, but it is doable and it depends on the effort and labor of the teachers of these students to prove to them that excellence in the academic career as well as professionalism and ethics do pay out in terms of success and riches in the everyday life. One of the suggested means that the teachers (and the parents) have to counteract the mystic glitter of the life of the “A” group are truly living examples.
Having conferences and other presentations with people that were not born in the midst of the “A” group but that have managed to enter into it by simply doing their jobs and excelling on their careers will be a powerful tool to counteract such unhealthy perceptions.
It is important that the environment in which the alternative student develops and continues to grow both personally as well as academically provides him or her with sufficient examples on how far can excellence in the academic and professional realms can get him or her.
In addition, it is recommended that the parents of the student allow some leniency in terms of the student seeking on his or her own to become part of the “A” group. Yet, it is always good to reinforce that the alternative student loan that is allowing him or her to continue his or her education is destined only to be the economic provision of his or her studies, not the support finances of his or her dabbing into the life of the “A” group.
There are few students that are immune to the charm and mystic glitter and glamour that has been portrayed of the “A” group through the years, and those students in general, have been deemed “weird”, since they do not fall into the classic conventionality of the “A” group. If the student belongs to this rare group, then he or she should be commended and guided, otherwise he or she might end on the opposite side the “0″ group with a null range of success and of happiness.
