But how many grants can I get? And where do I look?

The U.S. Department Of Education normally awards grants to less-fortunate or low-income scholars who need financial aid to attend College, a University or High school.

Through grants, millions of students across the country have been able to enjoy a quality education and gratify their quest for gaining knowledge.
There is set limit on how many grants a federal aid student can receive. Grants are based on your level of education. A student on aid might have excellent academic assessments to submit but it is not just an evaluation of the reputation of your work, it is also an assessment of the magnitude of your work.
For instance, how many classes are you taking? What is the maximum duration it will take to earn your Diploma or Degree? For the purpose of financial aid, this qualitative and quantitative analysis is evaluated as SAA (Satisfactory Academic improvement).

As far as financial aid is concerned, it is not feasible to sustain only satisfactory academic improvement. You cannot take the minimum number of classes required.
Your educational system knows the standard amount of time that it takes for learners in your major to finish their assignments and graduate.
Occasionally, this is calculated as credit hours but it can also be measured in semesters, years, and so forth. Your institution or school and the government often realize that students occasionally need some more time to complete the required courses. Regulations are in place to allow for some added time/credits.
On the other hand, they do have some precise restrictions on how much time you will need. For instance, the maximum time for undergraduate students cannot go beyond 150% of the required duration for the student’s course work.

In other words, you have the “official” duration of your course—maybe 120 credits–and increase this by 150%. When you school evaluates your work and establishes that you cannot accurately complete your degree in the appropriate amount of time, you will have violated the federal student aid regulations.
Mistaken Belief

Some families think that all students are allowed grants from the government. While the reality is that the U.S. Department of Education assists only students who are in need of financial aid.
Not every poor student is awarded grants and grant amounts differ from student to student based on estimations determined by Congress.
Several students also think that grant awards must be refunded like the other government loan programs. However, student grants are free funds that are awarded and never refunded back.

Student Grant awards can be classified into four factors. The first, and most imperative, is the scholar’s expected family contribution. The EFC is based on the information entered on the Federal Application for Student Aid report (FAFSA).

Features
Since grants are intended to help low-income students attain a degree, they are accessible only to students working on their initial undergraduate degree, either a Bachelor’s or another professional degree. The grant amounts awarded differs from one year to the next.
